Bake Sales, Plant Sales, etc., but especially our Strawberry Socials!

We have various fund-raisers throughout the year, but besides the annual Antique Show, one of our most enjoyed and anticipated,  is our annual "Strawberry Social." It is held on July 4th, unless the weather is inclement, then it is held very near that date (July 5 or July 6). Our Chairman Joann Leal is asking for volunteers. Please contact her for the time you can be there.

Our ladies spend hours cutting and slicing strawberries, and making biscuits, in preparation for the big day. Then, juicy succulent strawberries are ladled on top of home-made biscuits, and ice-cream, if you like, and dished out to hungry and appreciative customers. The event is held on the Marina Lawn, known as "Memorial Park" right along the waterfront where Independence Day activities are held. The ladies operate under a tent to protect the goodies and will tend to your wishes cheerfully. There are a few shady trees to sit under to enjoy your treat. It's the perfect time of the season when strawberries are at their best, and there is no other dessert that tastes better in July. For only $4.00, you can delight your tastebuds with our club's favorite offering.

Our club's anniversary cookbook is a compilation of recipes from our own talented cooks, including some family secret concoctions. We can't tell you which ones, but you will be pleased with the results. The book sells for only $10.00 and is a bargain with taste-tested selections sure to delight your family's palate. They make great gifts, too! They will be on sale during our Strawberry Social.

The proceeds from our various fund-raisers are used to finance our philanthropic endeavors as well as the upkeep of our clubhouse.
